Venneri’s project involved installing a permanent roof on a bare ramada structure at the Ghost Ranch Conference Center in Abiquiu. “He came up with the design and method for the project completely on his own, combining calculus and some creativity, for what resulted in a structure that complimented its beautiful Ghost Ranch surroundings,” says Scout Master Jim Cobble.
According to Cobble, Venneri earned 28 merit badges along the way. The time commitment for the Environmental Science badge alone took six years to complete. Venneri attended Los Alamos High School and also swam for the JV team. He has he was elected twice as senior patrol leader, once as assistant senior patrol leader and has been leader of the cougar patrol. He also holds the Order of the Arrow and as a result had to miss senior homecoming in order to receive that honor.  Additional highlights for Venneri include countless outings including attendance at Canoe Base where he was the main pull horse, propelling a canoe across 137 miles of lakes and portage trails.  He also attended the Packard High Adventure Base during which he beat the troop altitude record while at the same time Italy was winning the soccer world cup. The honor included letters from Governor Richardson, Senators Domenici and Bingaman, Representative Jeanette Wallace and many more. Venneri gave thanks to all of those who gave him support and trust along the way to Eagle and beyond. The ceremony included a presentation to both parents for their help along the way and to Jim Cobble for his never ending faith and guidance.
